Radon Testing
Radon is an odorless, colorless, tasteless, naturally-occurring radioactive gas formed from the breakdown of uranium and thorium. Exposure to radon is estimated to be the second-leading cause of lung cancer, accounting for an estimated 21,000 lung cancer deaths each year (range of 8,000 to 45,000). The EPA recommends that in instances where radon test results are in excess of 4 parts per million a radon mitigation system be installed.

Hawkeye Inspectors offers two (2) different types of radon tests. Both offer equal accuracy:
Radon in Air (Cannister Test)
The radon cannister test must sit for a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 96 hours. The test samples are then sent to a local, certified lab for testing. Lab testing takes between 5 and 7 business days to process at which point the results will be emailed.
Radon in Air (Testing with Continuous Radon Monitor)
The continuous radon monitor (CRM) testmust sit for a minimum of 48 hours and a maximum of 96 hours. The test results are then emailed directly to the client without the samples needing to be sent to a lab for further analysis. This is the fastest way to obtain radon test results.
